Interest sought on buying a Goldring G99 deck + SME 3009 imp FH arm

A friend of mine is thinking of selling his Goldring G99 turntable mounted in a Goldring Plinth.

(This is a photograph of a G99 deck. It is not the deck that is being offered for sale, but merely shown as an example.)

The plinth has a ‘cut out’ for an SME arm and a 3009/II (improved) arm with a fixed headshell would accompany the turntable. Also, if it can be found, a Shure M97HE cartridge would be thrown in for good measure.

I have seen the deck and arm and they are in excellent cosmetic condition. I have not heard the deck, but have to say that it has not been used for at least twenty years, so a good overhaul and service would be mandatory.

My friend is asking £175 for the whole lot. Post and packing would be extra.

This is, in my opinion, a bargain. Similar decks alone have recently been sold on eBay for around £350, and on auction sites in the Far East, two such decks (again alone) went for over £600!

Good God, this is exactly what I've been looking out for as a second turntable & arm - no spare lolly at the moment though (even at that bargain price).
Good luck with it though Barry - there's sure to be someone else here who'll snap up a thing like that.

You won't be disappointed Phil, believe me ;) All the important bits are shared with the 75 and 78, although the visible platter surfaces are painted white from memory..
