Looks nice - it's got a Jelco arm on it, too! ;)
Dunno, sonically, if it's worth that sort of cash, though....
Marco.
Ya, I noticed the Jelco arm...I didn't know that Lux was still building tables, I was very surprised when I saw this.
Don't think I'll roll out the cash for this one, but if Lux is back in the analogue biz I would say things are looking up for those of us enjoying the format.
Hi Rick,
Don't be too surprised if someone else is making it for them ;)
Marco.
Oh, absolutely.
But back in the glory days of vinyl, even though Lux contracted to Micro Seiki for design and manufacture, Lux themselves contributed significantly to the design.
A very long history of fanatical audio design, and I sincerely hope they have turned that fanatical eye toward vinyl yet again.

The thing is... The price is beyond ridiculous. Seriously, almost $4,800.
Its a lot of money for what it is, perhaps it will sell in the east but think not here in the UK

I don't find it ugly; I like its looks. But I really don't like the price.
Direct-drive would've been a different ball game......
Marco.

Sorry Hamish! Maybe you'd like it in a bespoke blue finish? ;)

I know I'd like a rebirth of the PD-171 with a quartz-locked servo system that would be as accurate as my 1210...

I just realized I made a stupid mistake that makes my previous post make little, if any, sense: I meant to type "PD-121", but I typed PD-171 instead. FAIL.
