Hi Guys,

Can anyone identify for me what version of the Caspian this power amp is. I've been told its not the M1, so its older than that at least. I purchased it out of haste on ebay for £255. It apparently has not been used, but has had a recent service to ensure it is working as it should.

What model is it? I'm hoping there is a keen Roksan eye about.

Also, have I over spent here? A gamble I know.

Thanks everso for your help.

Ta, Joe

No idea what model it is but i don't think you have overspent on it ;)

Obviously the seller bought both power amps secondhand so he wanted to make sure the unused one was up to scratch when he sold it. I'm not sure what a service would cost but the low 3 figures springs to mind even if nothing needed replacing ;)

I'm sure i remember seeing power amps like that new for upwards of £700 new a good few years back, so what you have there is a manufacturer serviced power amp that should be good for 10 - 15 years...

Sounds good to me, lets hope it sounds good to you :)

Thanks for the reply, Im hoping good things. The fact its had a recent service is good I guess. Hopefully a Roksan expert will spot this.

Looks like the first series Caspian, a really excellent amp, we sold a couple just a month or so back. At that price you virtually stole it :)

Thanks guys, Im feeling far better about my purchase. Looking to use it with Beresford Caiman, working as dac/pre. Speakers are new EB Acoustic EB2. Can't wait.

Hi Salty,
Yep, first series Caspian. Imported a few of them when I was the Roksan rep here in Brazil. There was also a preamp and CD player in the series.
Cheers,
