View Full Version : Further to list in Valve Clearance....
Hi Guys,
I've just found a long, ribbed-plate Telefunken ECC83, and a NOS, boxed as new, Mullard 6080 rectifier valve.
Telefunken ECC83 - £20.00
Mullard 6080 - £6.00
Both have been tested in my equipment and are fully functioning. The Telefunken sounds superb! :)
Intrested parties please either post here or PM me, or email me directly at: framed6images@aol.com
Prices are excluding P&P.
Cheers!

Many thanks.

I've also found a new stock JJ ECC803S, like this, which I bought from Guy Sergeant:

http://www.puresound.info/catalog/i7.html
It's still in its box and has hardly been used.... £10 (Inc P&P)
Nice sounding tube this, and one of the best current production 12AX7 types I've heard. The only reason I'm not using it now is because I prefer NOS.
Anyway, it's a bargain for anyone who can use it! :)

As purchased from Langrex. I no longer need it, as my preamp has been converted from valve to MOSFET rectification.
Gotta be worth £5.00 (Inc P&P) to someone? :)

Does NOS stand for "new old stock" or does it stand for something else with valves?
New Old Stock, matey :)
Although, sometimes 'NOS' is also used (albeit incorrectly) as a term to describe vintage (discontinued), as opposed to, current production valves.
'NOS' *should* mean brand new old stock, but it can also be used to describe new old stock valves which have only been tested for emission, and not actually used in equipment.
'NIB': 'New in Box' is the term used to describe totally new and unused current production or old stock valves, which haven't even been tested.

Marco, so you're listening to rectifier valves on the outputs of that headphone amp you've got on demo. ;)
Very good price though.
Hi Andy,
Cheers. Langrex are selling them on their site currently for £10, so £5 seemed reasonable :)

 You sinner, semiconductors in a valve amplifier :mental: What were you thinking, look how you are letting the side down

Aye, what a heathen, eh!

Hi Marco
Ah Langrex, brings back memories. Used to go there in the 90's to buy my valves. I wish I'd bought more of the NOS Mullard GZ34's though. I think they were only about £8 each.
Andy
Indeed, and CV4004s, CV1988s, GEC KT88s, and, etc, etc........ ;)

The KT88's were expensive even then, as were the CV1947's I bought for my Quad's. ECC83's GZ34's etc rocketed in price when the guitar boys went retro.

I bought a few when they were £14 at Langrex (early 1990's) - I still have them, but I ain't letting go!
Smart boy - I've very recently paid £72 and £93 respectively for two NIB ones on Ebay! ;)
