Does anyone know a good forum to discuss serious vintage around the late 60's Early 70's ! i don't get enough stimulation from AOS. sorry chaps!

Andre, this forum is open enough for it to become what WE make of it. I'm definitely at one with you if you want a chat or three over 1960's gear. I haven't got the Lab 80 going yet, so there'll be a thread or two about this. I'm tempted by some original Wharfedale Dentons I've seen (the first "proper" HiFi speakers I heard).

As for amps, you know how much I still admire the Ferrograph 307 and leak Stereo 70 and once her ladyship has filed her family-tree papers away, I shall be back on the Quad II's :)

Is that ok for a start?

P.S. Beobloke and I also frequent the Vintage Radio site and you'll often find me spouting forth on the vintage HiFi and record player threads (I love the old dansettes don't you know:eek:) and enjoy rambling on about Garrard-Glue (the stuff that used to be grease).....

I've got a barn full of vintage gear, so much stored away that I'm not sure what's there. If only I had a mate who would come over and show me how, I could post some pics....:rolleyes:

If you want stimulation how about - that Ferrograph F307 is as dull as ditchwater.

How's that for a start ?

Get it sorted out then Dave cos mine sings, i've spent a lot of money on it tho.. However i think many will disagree with you..

If you don't like it, i have one remedy, sent it to me ;)

I'll come over soon Dave. Just get the camera, take loads of shots and open up a free photo-bucket account to upload them to. the rest is easy...

A lot of issues with one these days as with your fav Leak 'Stereo 70', the phono connectors on the rear were just cheap metal, which are in bad shape these days, even tho mine worked most the caps & some resistors were shot as were the switches under the flap, all the potentiometers were bad aswell..i'm assuming Daves refering to the then dull sound from an aging stock item, but no way is the design dull when fully fettled.Every review i've seen back in the day gave them excellent flying colours. Nothing gets handed on a plate these days, you work at it to reap the benefits. What i have noticed is they are getting higher & higher in price these days...Very few are working either.Try get a Mk.II aswell.
