Hi guys, Ive just managed to secure a used Mastersound Compact 845 and hooked it up to my Epos ES14s. The sound is full and round with beautiful mid range and plenty of detail but imaging is a bit on the small size for my 22 x 14 sitting room. So any ideas for new speakers which will give me a bigger sound without losing the tone of the Epos. My front end is a modded Techy 1210 with Jelco 750 and ESCO modded DL103. Thanks

Well, the ES14 is a large speaker by today's standards and throws a fair size image. To get 'bigger', you will need a physically larger speaker.

What is your budget ?

Nearly anything medium to large by Harbeth.......................not cheap by any means but really lovely speakers based on some incredible BBC designs.

Harbeth Super HL5 would be great, they are wider & taller than your speakers. If i were to ever have a brainstorn & buy a new pair of speakers it would be Harbeth.

Unfortunately, they are over 2 grand now.

Have you given up on the idea of Celestion 66's, Chris? For sheer scale, I doubt much comes close at that price point - maybe some Tannoy's?

The chances of getting a larger pair of Harbeth's for under a grand are probably about the same as winning the Euro Millions rollover jackpot, I suspect. :(
