Hi,

My current setup, i know its not much like some of the systems on here!

Its in my bedroom! which is quite small, Iv got two setups now one for the tv and one for spotify system

On the tv system there is
Cambridge Audio Azur 540R 6.1 Surround running two Tannoy mercury Speakers, for front surround
Center speaker is a gale 15? something like that.
Rear surround is a pair of Reaslistic minus 7s one grill is painted white, i have got a silver pair of these somewhere to!
Subwoffer is a yamaha YST-SW80

On top of the amp is a Sony MiniDisc deck and a sony Cd player, aslo using my sanyo DVD player that was one of the first on the market years ago and cost a bomb £180 springs to mind :/

On the other system im running the Realistic MPA-100 amp and the Pioneer SX-636
The realisitc is running a pair of Kef B110s with T27 tweeters in modified cases.
Running off the Pioneer is the Goodmans Maxum M range speakers,

I have a computer set up with my music on that links in to my old DJ mixer as i dont have a preamp yet,

I was going to set my Dual 505 turntable up but seems to have devloped a fault and only spins at 33 1/2 so put it on the shelf for now. also on the shelf is my technics Su7300 amp and tuner.

Sorry iPhone rubbis pictures :/

Doesn't matter, Joe - you're listening to your tunes or watching movies in far better quality than most of the world at large. I've said it before, (I even started a thread about it) but what I love about hifi is the diversity of it - I doubt there is anyone out there with the same system as yours, or any of ours, come to think of it - much better to tread your own path than to follow the mini-system (or worse, ipod speakers) buying herd...

good stuff - thanks for posting the pictures. :)

Not knocking ipods - (I've got a Classic and a recently acquired Touch) or ipod speakers/docks (5 of those!) but it's when people accept that as the best there is, that I start to shake my head... I'm thinking about making it my mission in life to educate kids about "real" hifi, but I doubt it would succeed!

Looking good Joey! We all have to start somewhere. I had a Sony CD player just like that one 13 years ago (with a Denon PMA250SE and Mission 731i's). It all sounded mighty fine.

Alex, what's needed is to get the kids on here and then show them what's worth looking at on sites like Gumtree and Loot. It's possible to built a great system for peanuts. There are some amazing bargains out there but it takes the experience of those of us who are <cough> older <cough> to remember what's good and what's not.

Hi Joe

Everyone starts somewhere and I would have loved your gear when I was a student. Welcome to AoS and thanks for sharing :)

Hi Joey,

Great set up, I wish I had that set up in my bedroom when I was younger.
Spotify's brilliant, keep a look out for music recommendations on this forum also.

All the best

Marty
