Croft Integrated at Radlett Audio

At the end of the week I will be in possession of Glenn Croft's latest masterpiece - the Line Integrated and Phono Integrated amplifiers.

As the title suggests, there are two integrated amplifiers, one Line level and one with a MM phono stage incorporated. These are based on the Micro 25 pre with the Seven power-amp and offer a considerable saving over the pre and power purchased separately.

The prices are £1000 for the Phono Integrated and £850 for the Line Integrated.

Orders are now being taken for what is bound to be a very popular amplifier.

Dave, Glenn's latest work of art has been playing in my living room non-stop since yesterday lunch time (ok, a few hours of sleep in between...;)).

All I can say is that it has an amazing sound: delicate, detailed and fills the room like no other amp I've had before.

I'll bet it sounds good and is probably on a level with the old GCi which makes it good value at £1000.

I hope he does an 'R' version with the silver wiring and boutique components of my Syntegra.

Don't the R versions put the R where it matters - transformers and extra supplies etc...

Regarding bespoke bits, I'd love to find a pair of 500K stepped attenuators to replace the dinky but unmatched baby Alps pots Glenn used on mine..

Yes, there is an awful lot more inside an R version, larger power supplies etc.

Yes, you're right. I forgot about the traffo. That's why the Syntegra can put out twice as much power as the GCi.

I think the R versions may just have a PP type of circuit in the pre like mine does - twice the valves etc and with a more complex power supply. It may just be that the space inside the case won't take all the hardware in integrated form?

The Syntegra doesn't include a phono pre so it's relatively simple inside - only two valves.

The Croft Integrated L is now in da house and sounding very good through my Harbeth SHL5's. Jennifer Warnes is standing right in front of me as I type..:clap:
