Greetings, all, from the wet and rainy Pacific NW. I've taken my moniker from my two-decade long ownership of Naim audio equipment. Please understand that I have great respect for many, many other brands of equipment and am not a soap-box Naim fanatic. I've simply heard too many other satisfying systems to claim that any one is the best. Basically, I stopped seriously auditioning equipment about 15 years ago. I'd rather spend my time (and money) on records.
I bought Naim equipment because when I finally decided to buy better equipment (moving on from my trusty Luxman receiver) I noticed that every time I listened through Naim I simply relaxed and forgot to think critically. And eventually, I just got tired of shopping and wanted to have my search over and be able to listen at home. I've always bought used or ex-dem and have never regretted a purchase. I did enjoy using a vintage dynakit st70 for several years, but it reached a point where it seemed to get a few bugs and I didn't have the patience to fix it.
My current system is LP12/ittok/dynavector 17D3/ Linto/ naim cd3.5/ Naim 82/hicap/135s/ apogee cetaurus minors/ VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine, numark dj turntable (a technics clone) and Roland SP303 digital sampler and an old Nakamichi cassette deck. I think of it as a fairly unambitious system.
I stumbled on this site due to researching what can be done to optimize the Technics 1200 series turntables. I'm intrigued by what I've read and have really enjoyed the photos of other member's systems. Thanks
