Im not happy boys!
The Tact TDA2175 power amp that I've loved for so long in my home system has recently developed a dodgy on/off switch, so I've removed it tonight, to send it for service, and dropped in a Pair of Roksan M1 monoblocs which i bought through AOS. Ive also changed the balanced Coherent Systems interconnect between the Wadia 830 and the power amps to a pair of single ended Mark grant MG1000 (the Roksans dont do balanced)
I wasnt prepared for the sheer change in terms of the sound my system produces...... The bass is now soft and flabby (though there is loads of bass), treble is recessed and lacks extension. The soundstage has collapsed and the sense of pace: what sense of pace?
I love my Sonus Faber Grande Pianos but wouldnt buy them again based on this showing.
I live in the North West and previously would have welcomed visiting AOSers to listen to my system but now I'd hide behind the door and wait for you to go.......
Got some tweaks up my sleeve but what a shock!
