Evening all,
Thought it may well be a good idea to let you guys know that there is a headphone related meet that will be occurring on Saturday 4th April in London.
It is being organised by a few members on Head-Fi:http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/540416/head-fi-uk-meet-02-04-2011-london
Now I must mention for interest’s sake that AmpCity is sponsoring the venue, though this is rather to get word out there that all sorts of high-end headphones/ headphone amps/ DACs will be available to demo throughout the day. I know many on here currently possess only speaker-related gear (Thanks to recommendations on here I've just got my hands on a well-used SL 1200 which I shall be doing up over the next couple of weeks!).
Most though will not have experienced just what a high-end headphone setup can do (and a few have expressed interest in such equipment), and it is a great opportunity to get to grips with the headphone world, which can span from £50-£1000 just for a pair of cans. It definitely can compliment a speaker setup, especially for late night listening or when there are seemingly over-sensitive neighbours about. UK meets occur quite infrequently, so if people are interested in demoing some of the best equipment it is one of the few times of the year that this will be possible. There will be also be a few DIY builds which I know will interest a few on here!
To attend, people must register on the head-fi forum and post and interest on the thread, they've done it this way to count numbers and for securities sake. All other details are available on that thread.
