I recently fitted a PFM flea in place of the 5v reg. The flea uses an LED as a voltage dropper. When I tuirn the B/F off, the 5v reg is still on. Does this happen with all B/F dacs?

Yeah certainly with the Caiman - and therefore presumably the 7520 too, the DC in is permanently applied to both 5v & 12v regs as soon as it's plugged in.

The advantage is it keeps the dacs critical circuitry warmed up whilst in standby ready , most stuff doesn't perform its best from cold and takes time to properly stabilize

I bought mine second hand with no info leaflet. I assume that the info tells you this. Without a standby LED I wasn't aware.

EDIT: The instruction manual does not mention this? Some might not want it on all the time, say if they were away for a period.
