So let's have a little quiz shall we?

Let's pretend you're making recommendations for a sound system for a venue.
Here are some details of the acoustic environment that we're dealing with:


It's an indoor venue
It has the largest interior of any venue of its type in the world - with a seating capacity of 20,000.
It is highly reverberant, internally clad and floored mostly in marble
It occupies a site of 5.7 acres and boasts a huge domed section
It's 198 metres from one end to the other and rises internally up to a high section of 119 metres


The performances are mostly of unaccompanied human voices and also of keyboard instruments.

So what type of loudspeakers would you choose to serve such a venue? Budget would be......shall we say 'flexible'!

So, I'm guessing Rome is where you've been the last week or so Chris? Lucky bugger if you were, such an amazing City, not been in over 10 years, need to do something about that...

Human voices and organ music I would guess.
Klipcsh RB 81 II stacked much like the Bose.

Yes that's right Alex, we went on Monday & had four nights there. We had a great time, despite some dreadful weather. Oh, & my legs are still aching from hauling myself up to the top of that dome at St. Peters. The knackered joints, burning lungs, claustrophobia & worry of falling were worth it once we got to the top though!

Last time I was in Rome, I was in short trousers & stuck there as a result of an aircraft fault on a much longer trip.

Excellent, fabulous city, well worth a visit to anyone that hasn't been - the sense of history is amazing virtually wherever you go.

OK, say in a lifetime you are given one chance to travel to Italy.
What would your choice be, Rome, Florence or Venice?

Just for the record, I haven't been to any of them yet.

I've been to a variety of weddings, christenings and funerals over the past two years in a variety of Catholic and C of E churches and chapels and it would seem that the Almighty's choice of speaker is invariably Bose...

Either He knows something we don't or Bose's marketing is even better than they think it is...

I've been to all 3, and they are all brilliant experiences, but I would also vote Rome. :)
