Great stuff, thanks for the enjoyable read. Still wondering at no mention of Nelson Pass, but perhaps he is far better known in the USA?

Sadly no. Entirely my fault. He slipped my mind. However ...... in the context of the times, I found the Stasis power amps (vertical LED version) effortless sales at Subjective Audio. They really looked the part. But last year I tried one (an old black-faced Stasis 2) and it was mediocre in comparison to modern gear.
