Ever wanted to make your big, old loudspeakers look small and domestically acceptable?
Then, as per the attached piccy, simply park a pair of Leak 2075s in front of them! ;)
(and yes, those 'small standmounters' on the right are indeed my "big" Ferrograph S1s)

What are they like

Love it! :eyebrows:
They're taller than my Lockwoods, but not as wide. I suspect if you plonked one of me ol' rabbit hutches down beside the Ferros, the effect would be the same ;)

Pah - lightweights :)
Once had to carry a pair of those up two narrow flights of stairs, each with a 180 degree bend halfway up. Never could raise much enthusiasm for them after that.:o
very nearly come home with a pair of those twice now, the first pair were part of a swap but the bloke backed out at the last minute :steam:, there was also a pair at one of the Audiojumbles that never sold a few years ago, still kicking myself about those as well
I seem to remember the first pair were part concrete filled as well
oh well one day perhaps
Looking at a photo of the drivers, they look interesting. Are they sandwich type speakers?

I know the 15" is & the lower mid, the upper mid & tweeter are the same as used in certain Wharfedale speakers :)
i'm sure there was a bigger brother with ribbon tweeters
Edit oh yes it was the 3090's, just found you in a thread on Pink fish Adam talking about them

Adam's sounded lovely at Scalford.
I THINK the 3090s are the same size; would you like me to measure mine?
I have them either side of a 50 inch Kuro, in the lower-split level part of my living space.
Nice relaxed sound, and the bass WILL move air, but only at unsocial volumes! That's SOUND volumes....though I guess AIR volumes applicable too.
And, yes, Sandwich construction bass units.(and mid).
Luckily they seem to last (I have a pair of 15 ohm 'normal' Sandwiches too.) The surround is doped fabric on those, rubber on the 15 inchers.
The mids were an early example of computer designed speakers. There are spiral lines of holes to break up resonance.
The (huge) cross-over is bigger on the 3090s as well, i believe. Mine have been re-capped with Solens (?)
I am full of admiration for the dedication that it takes to shift those all the way to Scalford (AND turntables etc as well!)
I'd post a pic, but have no site to use. Can email them.
