As a fellow newbie, relatively speaking, even though I appear on the list, I agree that this crude calculation is unfair. A much fairer way of doing it is to set a minimum no. of posts and, for those that exceed this number, rather than count the number of posts, calculate the average number of words per post - much fairer.
As Dave Cawley is apparently having a quiet day I volunteer him for the task - should keep him out of mischief for a while .
