Default So, Tell Us About Your Avatar.............

Sister thread, I guess, to the user name one.

(Maybe this'll stop some people hijacking perfectly good threads with 'grandad porn' while pretending to discuss their tiny little piccies).

My avatar depicts the frustration of someone who got into a career in forestry because they love the outdoors, but is almost never able to get out into the woods any more.

    So............what about you??????

Mine is of Laura Nyro, recording New York Tendaberry at Radio City Studios... fantastically enigmatic and a slightly odd-ball picture, and Laura at her best; so I like it

I've thought for a while that was a great picture, & though I wouldn't know Laura Nyro if she landed on my lap, I somehow knew that was her. Strange.

(I do know a bit of her music though)

Too complicated to state in a few words. Suffice it to say, it combines two of my interests, comments on my stance on the foreign policy of a certain far-eastern country and in some way symbolises the three ethical principles of this forum.

Further and more detailed explanation will have to wait, though I doubt if anyone is sufficiently interested.

    Default Well as you asked...

This inspirational image is or rather was one of a series in a recent poster campaign aimed at high school kids in the US (Arizona I think) warning of the dangers of drug misuse. Now I don't know about you but somehow I think showing that to a bunch of spotty 14/15 year olds is more likely to elicit a reaction of "wow, where can I get me some of that stuff" rather than "oh, how dreadful, I must never try that." Me, I just find it funny, but hey that's just me

I shall leave to your imagination the poster that was captioned
"You would never think of getting pregnant in a public toilet....but on meth you would...."

    Ralph,

Some may think your twisted, but I also find it funny. But hey, that's just me.

The avatar I shall display is HAL from 2001 A Space Odyssey. I have it as the desktop background on my HTPC on a 42 inch display. Now if I can only figure out how to get the error messages changed in Vista to incorporate HAL 9000 phrases.

    Terry
