Default The Art of Sound Room, Scalford Hall, March 2009

A few pics taken with my phone of our system. The speakers, Heco Statements, were kindly lent to us by Guy Sergeant of Puresound.

Rob (Filterlab) has no doubt taken some much better pics that also show the Copper amp and Croft preamp as well as the AOS/TD grounded grid pre and A30 power amp shown above.

Thanks to Rob also for doing the banners shown in the pics.

Can't really see the amps all that well, but Marco's turntable looks fantastic with "that" arm on it.

The room looked very good and you guys obviously spent quite a bit of time organising everything. Is a real shame that some people just thought the worst and assumed that you were dealers in disguise. I really dont understand the mentality that exists with some people. Hopefully there will be more events like this and eventually as people get to know each other the animosities will begin to erode.

Default Grounded grid

Hi Steve,
can I just ask is the grounded grid pre-amp based on the Transcendent Sound kit and modded by Tube distictions. The case seems different to the ones I saw in America(if its the black one in the photos) I just wondered what the cost of this would be as it sounded good to me at the show.

hi clive,
the grounded grid that i did for steve toy was an original prototype that i first completed in 1999, it is not based on anyones version, it was designed from ground up by myself originaly for my own system. it was only when steve showed an interest in trying it that i decided to make it into a finnished product!
the circuit is all hard wired and uses copper board as a ground plain only, the power supply is a hi-brid design ie, it uses both valve and solid state technology. to make into a finnished product for steve the aditional parts were fitted, DACT attenuator, DACT selector switch, silver wire was used to connect them to the circuit, and last but not least a new acrylic facia refering to it being an adition to the AOS series. usualy i keep all pre-production and proto-type models ie they are never offered for sale, although on this occasion i made an exception because steve after borrowing the prototype for a while asked if i would build him one, unfortunetly i didnt have the time to make a version from scratch and so i decided on this occasion to offer him the prototype version with the aditional upgrades mentioned above, and that is how it came to be in the hands of mr toy at the show. i will however be bringing out a new version of grounded grid in the near future so watch this space.
regards,anthony,TD...
