Getting on with it taught me a lot. Turning on the radio in my truck while I was charging the dead battery led to some research.
I'm far from an expert, but I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I've always been interested in electronics. Doing the wrong thing always sent me to the books, not the store. Working as an engineer sent me into banking.

I think Michael Gove's comment has been taken out of context. Of course experts should be listened to - it's the people who claim to be experts that we should be wary of. Economics isn't a science anyway and whatever an economist claims it isn't difficult to find another economist with contrary claims.
Electronic engineering is a lot more reliable and predictable than economics.
No. I just suck at selfies. I can't smile and use a camera at the same time for some reason. There are a few mugshots on record though.
No offense taken.

Not according to audiophiles unfortunately! Whilst I'll no doubt make random exceptions I just can't be arsed with wasting my time explaining things to people when they'll usually just say that "Jim and Steve and Quentin on XYZ forum, non of whom know anything about electronics whatsoever, say differently so I'll go along with what they say".. Let them waste their money and fill 40 pages debating stuff that is 100% impossible... telling the truth and sticking to it apparently causes offence and upsets the smooth running of the site so basically I'm done on all that stuff... next time someone insists that putting a carrot on their CD player whilst polishing the mains fuse makes things sound better I'll laugh at them privately but remain out of the debate!

Economics is more of a game. The logic of engineering transfers to it pretty well.
I made the mistake of getting into one of those debates yesterday. It's music so there is no way to balance subjectivity with science. Any component, even wire affects the complete circuit. Whether or not it's better isn't universal. Audiophile terminology and pseudo-science doesn't explain why it is better.

I'm Luis.
I had an idea a few weeks ago. After a quick google search, I discovered I wasn't the first person that had it.
It powers my routers, tvbox, external disk, RPi and it event let's me charge my smarphones and all those things.
It allowed me to unplugged 5 permanently connected power supplies.
I just made something similar to this and, I have to say, although there are (much?) better power supplies, I'm pretty happy with it!

And it even runs pretty cool without the fan!
No costs involved and lots of amps available!
Please, don't kill me
