I've got a Rocket Giotto with PID and it is one beautiful machine.
I bought mine from a seller on eBay who is about three miles from the Rocket factory.
They make great coffee but make no mistake cheaper machines can do as well. They just won't look as 'fuck off' good.
At the end of the day you are just forcing hot water under pressure though some coffee. That isn't Rocket science, LOL.

Here's a couple of points.
My brother has the rotary pump version but no PID. It is quiet and you can plumb it into the water mains. He hasn't done that and it isn't worth the effort IMHO. The water tank is plenty big enough.
Any machine with an external group head presents a warm up problem. You can't make good coffee until this thing has warmed up and it takes about 10 minutes to get really warm. This is such an issue I control mine via a wi-fi plug via my phone or Alexa, so I can turn it on in the morning from two floor levels up.
I personally don't think the rotary pump is worth the money. But if you need it to be quiet then it will be worth it.

You can get thermometers to fit on the group head but I have not bothered. It is obvious when it is hot enough. Just touch it!
So far very reliable - after maybe two years no issues.
Beautifully built internally with lots of copper. Just watch a take apart video on YouTube to confirm.
