There is quite a lot of bullshit though. Can't really deny that. But that's true of everything these days.

I guess that anyone who goes to the trouble we do to assemble a hi-fi system, considered as 'fit' to reproduce recorded music, "nerdy" is arguably an apt description.

However, I'm still not comfortable with that word, as it conjures up images of a buck-toothed, big-eared bespectacled geek, with lank unkept hair, BO issues and dreadful dress sense, still living with his mother in Manchester, with no friends and penchant for buggery....

Having met you I would only rank you as slightly odd. Actually, maybe a bit odder than that. Who else would be nuts enough to organise MiBO???

Likeable though. Yes - very likeably slightly odd+

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I have a lot of stuff delivered to work and quiet often whip my valves out to show the girls in the office. They smile weakly and just think I'm a nasty old man.

Why is it that claiming innocence to all of this makes me suspect that in fact you might actually behind the scenes be quite guilty?
