Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Seen Joe Brown a couple of times over the last 5 years at The Stables Wavendon and Milton Keynes theatre. Both concerts very enjoyable and he is such an accomplished musician.

Great choice of album Grant, not heard it before. A real easy listen and it takes me back. Thanks.

    9/10.

Joe Brown. Blimey, he must be about eighty.

He is 76 now and still going strong.

Probably gets them from the same place as Rod Stewart and Bernie Ecclestone do.

I love this LP. I saw Van on this tour in Cardiff , I seem to remember. Great choice. 9/10

Van has normally chosen excellent artists to collaborate with - Lonnie Donnegan, Georgie Fame, John Lee Hooker, Dr John, The Chieftens (Irish Heartbeat is a cracking LP), Brian Kennedy, Roger Waters.......oh and Cliff Richard (?)
Check out his 2015 LP of Duets, there's some good tracks, he's still got it.

This LP also reminds me that I managed to get 3 of my kids along to see Lonnie Donnegan over a couple of concerts in the last years before he left us in 2002. A true legend in my opinion.

    Nice one.

    John
