    It would have to be completely silent. And I can't imagine any vacuum cleaning device being completely silent.

    That's still enough of a distraction to tell if they are really clean, apart from an obvious 'snap', 'crackle' or 'pop'.

    Oh I own one but have loaned it to a friend of mine on a permanent basis since he has quite a few more LPs than I do. As a return favour he cleans any LP I want and goes to a lot more trouble doing it than I would.

    Lol... The vacuuming process [the noisy bit] only lasts a few seconds! Hardly a hardship... The rest of the [manual] cleaning process is silent, thus allowing one to scrutinise how quiet the record you've just cleaned plays, whilst enjoying the music contained on it.

    I don't find the process a chore at all; on the contrary, it's rather therapeutic
