I'm Andrew.
used 3 m and 6m cables for a good year with no problems !
ou might slip, you might slide, you might
Stumble and fall by the road side
But don't you ever let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven
Don't let nobody turn you around
… Walk with the rich, walk with the poor
Learn from everyone, that's what life is for
And don't you let nobody drag your spirit down

Different lengths can make a significant difference in resale value. If you ever want to sell or trade it may prove hard to get rid of uneven pairs. Due to OCD and all.

Does it matter if one ear is bigger than the other?
I am prompted to design, manufacturer, market and sell the "EAR RIGHT".
I see this as being a customised (i.e. more profitable) device to compensate for the devilish problem of ear-asymmetry! It eliminates the need for complex, painful and risky surgical correction of ear-asymmetry.
It comprises a custom-moulded prosthesis using colour matched silicone gel for that natural "I can't believe how not lopsided his ears are!" look. Aside from enhancing your aural pleasure, this device is proven to enhance your bedroom pleasure as this newspaper article confirms!

Don't delay! Act now! Get the "EAR RIGHT" and everything will be "ALL RIGHT" baby!
I have never noticed any difference. One system i am using 5m, and 7m lengths. The other system using 4.5 equal lengths.
Kraken, Saturn, Emotion, Flying V Rocket, Planets.
The speed of light is pretty fast...
One instance where I do think it could make a difference is with high capacitance speaker cable, like Goertz, 1m at one side 7m the other, using a cranky amp that is sensitive to such things like NVA, old Exposure or old Naim.
Mana Acoustics Racks / Bright Star IsoNodes Decoupling >> Allo DigiOne Player >> Pedja Rogic's Audial Model S DAC + Pioneer PL-71 turntable / Vista Audio phono-1 mk II / Denon PCL-5 headshell / Reson Reca >> LFD DLS >> LFD PA2M (SE) >> Royd RR3s.
I ran a system where one speaker cable was 14m long, the other was 6m. Can't say I noticed the ~15ns delay, or the < 0.1dB difference in level, and since I use electrostatic speakers, the difference in damping factor was not important.
Now my speaker cables are each <1m in length.
