    Default Marantz CD6005

I've recently got hold of a Marantz CD6005 cd player as an upgrade from my CD6003. I'd considered several players up to my £500 budget and although there are a lot of good players out there my experience with other Marantz kit made the 6005 a favorite. The biggest difference is the DAC from the pricey SACD players now being used. This is a definite improvement and with the upgraded display and digital out turned off sounds very natural and easy to listen to. Along with all the stuff you'd expect to find and a very usable remote it has a USB socket on the front for ipods etc and is built like a battleship.
If you're looking for a CD player on a budget it's well worth a listen.

I really liked the CD6005. Plugged my iPhone into the front USB socket and streamed Spotify via an iPad; lovely sound. Was so impressed I soon sold it and bought the SA8005. Unfortunately it didn't get the use it deserved so that was sold and replaced with an Oppo 105EU.

I read a couple of negative reviews on the Sony but did consider it, also a Pioneer and an Arcam but in the end I like the Marantz. I also looked at the Roksan Kandy but it would have been a fairly elderly unit.
Come over for a listen, kettle on standby
