Nop. As with Audio cassette the pre recorded cassette tape/Video tape used was of poor quality.

Oh yes, the *only* valid comparison that can be made is when making your own recordings with the hardware concerned. Pre-recorded anything was pish.

    Marco.
Of course, we had one and the quality was still inferior to DVDs.

I have over 200 DVDs, were they video tapes they would take up double the space - space I need for books and more CDs

Video tapes can suffer from stretching, snapping and getting tangled around the heads on ejecting.

No, I wouldn't want to rip my vinyl collection to a hard drive - I would loose the art work and sleeve notes, and the great smell of vintage vinyl! As well as the ritual of cleaning the record and stylus.

Technology - use the bits you like and ignore the rest (as much as you can).

I still rate the automatic domestic washing machine as my greatest bit of technology. I should really build a shrine to it. Having to go to the launderette for 12 years of your adult life will do that to you.
    Current Lash Up:

I see Digital Files & CDee as pure convenience nothing else. Smaller, Cheaper, Easier. The whole enjoyment of the hobby has gone imho. unwares to some its not just about listerning to the music.

Irrelevant to me - I never made any video tapes, nor had any interest to do so.

Im refering to the tape used in the pre recorded tape as being inferior to the higher quality you could buy with blanks. Gave tape play back machines/Media a bad name.

Only the same as someone saying records are rubbish & no where near as good as CD based on their experience with a bad quality Record player/Cartridge.
