Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

I'm Malcolm.
Was giving this a spin earlier. I love a bit of Ms Norman, but she is the icing on a very lovely cake with Julia Varady all impassioned intensity as the composer, and Edita Gruberova all sparkle as Zerbinetta and the (originally Philips) recording a lovely blend of chamber intimacy and warm ambience. Delicious.
And I think it was less than £9.

Very nice 'middle of the road' performance. Nicely articulated, natural unspectacular recording, especially the winds. I enjoyed it.
-- a Brilliant series of 3 CD sets on Brilliant Classics. Fantastic sound quality and performance - in fact I have volume 2 rather than the one shown and have just ordered another from the series (vol 4).

Guillou is always interesting - sometimes in a good way, sometimes kind of eccentric.
And the Dorian sq is excellent.

Hmm, curious - earlier this eve I listened to Shosty 4th conducted by Barshai. Yes, a hotch potch of a symphony, but strangely compelling!
