Some fuses are mounted vertically though, would that matter?
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
I think it depends how you look at it.

I bought as I have said before a pension friendly Caiman SEG and Dorado 3 last June, just before Christmas drove the 3/4 of an hour to Stan's for upgrades a few days later picked it up and was giving it play time. I had paid for the clock and super-cap mods Stan also replaced the seg42 with the SEG50
My next mod was to remove the RCA phono unit from the circuit board replacing it with brass chassis mount phono sockets wired with 7n OHNO PTFE coated wire, a small but surprising improvement.
My Chinese 15v PSU overheated, over Christmas I ordered on line a made to order regulated 15v Linear PSU Caiman specific from MCRU designed for them by Long Dog Audio Mike & Dave at MCRU were a delight to deal with as was the knowledgeable Nick Gorham the designer at Long Dog Audio who answered a plethora questions. I bought from the UK, it was a known quantity & would be electrically safe.
The 2 piece PSU is particularly quiet, I believe it allows the Caiman/Dorado to perform to virtually their full potential I am a very happy bunny. I have heard some very expensive DAC's in other systems, this set up in my system is firmly up there for a lot less money & will see me out.
I know with the Dorado 3 Stan has attempted in part to save customers money by improving cheaper linear PSU's but the linear PSU from Nick Gorham via MCRU makes quite a difference most noticeably air in the treble and even tighter deeper bass using OTA Quad 57's which are very revealing.
