Default FS: Marantz PM15 "Statement' Integrated Amp

For sale is a Marantz PM15 Integrated amplifier.

This incredible and legendary statement amp hails from the mid 90’s and stands as one of the best Japanese integrated amps ever made. Extremely rare outside of Japan and built like a tank weighing in at some 32kg. There is so much solid copper inside it’s quite unlike anything that is built today. In fact there is no way Marantz would be able to build this amp today with the price of copper being what it is these days. It is not to be confused with the much later and inferior PM15s1 and PM15s2.

Packing 150W (8ohms) in class A/B with the first 20W or so being Class A it is a wonderful sounding thing. The Vintage Knob (link below) described this as in the ‘Supreme Class’. It’s got an excellent MM/MC phono stage built in too with balanced inputs on one of the line inputs too. I used this with a TW Acustic Raven/Graham Phantom, Luxman DA-06 DAC and Tannoy Glennair 15 speakers for many years. It’s that good.

I bought this when I lived in Japan and as such it is a 100V unit but will come with a suitably sized step-down transformer. I’ve owned it about 9 years.

Overall this is in very good condition with only a few minor marks. The blue LED has also gone dim over time. Otherwise all working wonderfully and sounding as spectacular as you would expect. In todays money this would be at least a £6000 amp but given the escalation in prices in high end hi-fi, probably much much more.

This is so heavy and I do not have its original packaging so I cannot in all good conscience ship this so it’s collect only from Wirral in the North West. Several people have approached me over the years to buy this amp and I have never seen another for sale in the UK so this is very rare opportunity to get hold of one of these.

I’ve loved this amp for many years but it’s time for a change. I’m asking £2200
