Here said that arms come from Technics (read side notes):

The arm looks really cheap (about as good as a stock Techy arm, at best) and the 'orangy' plastic looking wood and the whole finish of it is a bit blingy - nope not my thing at all.

There are some very nice Denon Direct-drive T/Ts around, but IMO that's not one of them.

Give me an SL-1210MK5G or a Pioneer PL-71 any day!

But I was talking about currently marketed DD TT, for home HI-FI use, not vintage or DJs. My surprise was about DENON using Technics parts, that should be a proof of the quality of the SL 1200 project.

Of course my choice is for the M5G, too (I own it... )

I understand that the bearing which, unlike the Technics, is an integral part of the motor, is of poor quality.

I suspect that that it does not use Technics parts but has been designed to look like it uses Technics parts to give it credibility - very cynical! If you look at it's specs they are much inferior to the SL-1200 MK2.

The turntable in question is marketed in the U.S. as a DP-550M I believe.

I don't know of anyone who would buy one ahead of a Technics.

The vintage Denon's 59/60/75/80 series are the most sought after.
