Default Hi all my name is Steve

Hi all I have just joined, my HiFi interest started a a very young age my first HiFi was a Philips separates system around 1975 that my parents bought me from Rumblows and my first love was Yellow brick road by Elton John.
I just love the engineering of the HiFi and of course I love music.
My latest interest is to buy a valve amplifier.

Welcome to you all best regards Steve

    Welcome to AoS Stephen,

Yes, plenty of valve users here to help you with your search.

Apart from Elton John, what are your tastes in music?

    Enjoy the Forum

Welcome Steve it would be useful to know what speakers you use, what sort of music you play, the size of your room and what volume you want to get up to as all these may influence which valves and amp are the best for you.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Hello Steve, welcome to AoS many on here have valves including myself. What gear do you currently have, my experience with valve amps is matching with speakers is pretty important, mind you that can be said of any amp I suppose. Yellow Brick Road was a regular player on my mates 8 track in his MK1 Lotus Cortina and on Vinyl at his home, and is a favourite of mine to this day, Captain Fantastic is another goody IMO.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.
