Default Armboard and tonearm cable for Jelco SA-750D

I will be recieving a jelco arm in the next few days(hopefully) and need some advice on where to get an arm board for the 1200 and some tonearm cable recommendations.

I have never fitted an arm before so any advice in what to do or not do would be appreciated,as im not sure how easy it will be.

    cheers.

I think Marco is very happy with his Oyaide tone-arm cable indeed.

    Hi Darren,

    Welcome to the Jelco club!

I'd get an armboard from Mr Cawley, as short of a Mike New solid brass one, the German-made ones DC sells are superb - it's what I use.

As for tonearm cable - that depends on your budget. Yes, like David says, I'm very happy indeed with the Oyaide, but it's not cheap - although it's a bargain compared with the Furutech...!

cheers marco, when i saw it advertised on here i couldn't believe no-one had snapped it up at the price it was going for, so thought it be rude not to .

Well depending on how much the armboard is,i like to keep the cost to about £50 for the tonearm cable.

In that case, the Neglex is the one, although it'll be about £60 or so. You just missed the one I sold recently....

Or you could try one of Johnny's tonearm cables for £55.00: http://www.audioorigami.co.uk/AO_Rewires/DSCF1474.jpg

Or a posher one (same cable) but with a Cardas gold connector and plugs for £110. He may even be able to supply an armboard, too

Have you heard the Furutech on the Jelco? I could likely get one cheapish from a mate who cant use it on his LP12, and I am planning on getting Jelco 750L soon.

Else I could get a Zu cable instead.

The Neglex cable is pretty good and a lot less expensive than the Oyaide.
