Lol - I guess I'm just used to shooting around rural North Wales and Cheshire in no time, as traffic simply isn't an issue!

I'm also fortunate that I can go to my favourite shops in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays, when they're quiet..... However, I'm sure it'd be worth your effort to go to Ben's and The Rock Box - and when you've been once, you'll be hooked!

Let's all say "get it right up ye!" to music downloads, HMV, Amazon and all the other huge organisations who don't need our money, and reward the little man instead!!

    Yes

see here http://www.adventuresinhifiaudio.com...s-in-scotland/ and that's only a few of them... after publishing the article it became clear that there were many I did not know about.

Nice one, Neil. I think I'm proving my point that there are more of these types of shops around than folk might have thought, so come on guys, use your imagination, think outside of the box and support your local independent record shops, and shun using the over-commercialised 'usual suspects' retail giants, either on-line or off-line!

I will be doing a similar article on Belfast soon. I spoke to one of the owners of Dragon Records before Christmas and he was keen on me doing a write up on his shop.

There is also Head and Good Vibrations as well. I worked for awhile many years ago in Good Vibrations for the Legendary Terry Hooley....what a character.

I have and there was nothing there last time I tried.

Good Vibrations still has no dedicated website...there is a history site etc but nothing contemporary. However Dragon Records now does have something here http://dragonrecordsbelfast.blogspot.com/

Bit about Head here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_Entertainment. I did not know it was a spin off from the failed Zavvi.
