Great double bill on Film 4 this afternoon, which I taped:
'Brewster's Millions' (1985) Richard Prior & John Candy, Walter Huston directs. That can't go wrong. And it doesn't. Always worth a watch. Followed by
'School Of Rock' (2003) Seen this a few times, another comedy that isn't high brow or anything but still good enough to be worth watching again.

Quite enjoyed it Barry. It is just well done across the board.... Just tried to watch 12 years a slave, but found it pretty much unwatchable. Not sure why folk make films in this way .... ah well you occasionally lose one now and then.

In what way did you find it unwatchable? The subject is certainly difficult viewing, but IMO it covers an appalling piece of history of which we should be constantly reminded.

Wasnt really the content, although i thought that poorly done too, but the lack of any character association whatsoever. Roots for instance which ive just finished rewatching was a masterpiece in comparison and it was not perfect.
