The Magnificent Seven (1960). Original and best. John Stuges iconic western was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
Stars Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter, James Coburn, Horst Buchholz and Eli Wallach.
Music is by Elmer Bernstein and Cinematography by Charles Lang. The film was slated originally by many critics(shows what they know) but the score was listed at No. 8 on the American Film Institute's list of the top 25, after missing out at the Oscars.
It is the second most shown film in U.S. television history, behind only The Wizard of Oz

'Steptoe And Son' 1972
Love these British films from this era as it is from the world as I grew up in. Everything was a bit old and worn but it all had character and a shabby charm. I like to watch what is going on in the background in the location scenes, all the old shops and cars and that.
