Came across these a few weeks a go and thought it would be good to watch them again so here goes

    SURVIVORS (1975)

When a genetically engineered virus kills ninety-five percent of the world's population, the survivors must rebuild humanity in the face of overwhelming odds. "Survivors" is a study of man vs. nature and man vs. man in an attempt to reclaim an unrelenting world.

Written or created by Terry Nation and starring Lucy Fleming, Ian McCulloch, Denis Lill and Carolyn Seymour among many.

I enjoyed this originally and boght it when it came out on dvd... Time to see if I still do.....I was not especially impressed with the remake

Theme music was quite spooky for its time too

Quite enjoying this. I remember why I did now

Interesting and quite a likely premise though, and they are right. How many folk have the knowledge to survive, not only in their life but to pass down info on how to make simple tools etc. Very few.

I actually remember the series reasonably well. Pretty bleak stuff. Only brightened by Carolyn Seymour's presence. She was rather nice.

As for the survival bit. I reckon I'd probably be OK. I know a bit about it. In fact I have copies of 'Come Back Alive' and 'The Survival Handbook' on the bookshelf right in front of me .

The original Survivors was really good. Scary when you were a child. I saw some of the episodes again last year and concluded I was really way to young to be watching it back then. That and 'Day of The Triffids from around the same time both quite disturbed me.

Been watching 'The Factory' 2010 film with John Cusak as a homicide cop hunting down a serial killer. One of those where there is always a twist near the end. I didn't guess it. Cusak is always good, even in crappy films.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Very much enjoyed the first 4 episodes...

now Crooks anonymous from 1962, and starring Leslie Phillips and Stanley Baxter. Support from Julie Christie and JRJ makes this a superb comedy. Baxter plays several roles ...even a role for Dick Emery.

No worries Gary, smart TV threw those up as 'recommended for you', sometimes the stuff it recommends is good, sometimes not so much. I don't recall seeing those at the time. I live in hope that The Road is found someday, Nigel Kneal's lost classic.
