    Thank you!
What a surprise to me! I just did it entirely for fun and not expected any prize at all. Nevertheless, I have won the second prize and I am very pleased with that. But, what can I do with the voucher? Buy something from you and spend it? It means I will have to fork out more. Anyway, thanks again for your generous offer!
It's basically £30 to spend on my website mate, you pick whatever you fancy and I will send it in the post. There are lots of bits and bobs you can get.

    As an example:-

I have also record stylus cleaning putty, bearing oil, and all manner of things.

    Hi theophile,

Very interesting combination indeed! What are those metal balls for? Will they make any noise when the platter is spinning?

    They are lead fishing sinkers.

I was looking at the 'groove' at the outer edge of the platter one day,and wondered what a bunch of lead sinkers would contribute if placed within it.

As background,I don't use the stock mat rather a combination of cork/foam spots and the Boston Audio Carbon/Graphite Mat 2.Without the stock mat,the GT 2000's platter gives a nice 'ting' when struck with the edge of a screwdriver(not that playing a record will provide the same impulse). With the fishing sinkers in place the platter emits a dull 'tunk',when struck with the screwdriver.

Do I feel that it has made an audible difference/improvement?I really couldn't day.I can say that it made nothing sound any worse, and I like the fact that the platter is a little less resonant.
