Eric Johnson is usually very demanding when it comes to production. The Venus Isle album sounds a little washed out; but, the others are quite nice. Good mix of power and melody, instrumental and vocal.

Lyrics are the ramblings of man, sometimes inspired by The Creator, most often, not.
But music (melodies, harmonies, rhythms), that's God stuff.

Time flies like an arrow.
Fruit flies like a banana.
Hamish is absolutely right, if you want an album to blow your socks off, Broken Skin is well worth a listen.
If you want something that can 'blow the bl**dy doors off' as Michael Caine would have said - you could consider AWOL Nation's latest album... can't remember the title off the top of my head but the track 'Sail' has levels of bass I didn't even knew existed...

I just got this today. Mainly bought for the bonus cd. I've always thought that, although I love the singles from this album, the rest of the tracks are quite weak. Plus there are so many mixes of the singles, often better than the album versions, but whatever, it's still worth owning!
