i think if that is the route I go down, I will put everything on individual supports, depending on cost of course.

I did not really want an obvious equipment rack in the room but to be fair some do look OK, however they actually worked out much more expensive than the sideboard I bought.

In terms of vibration, nothing gets through this sideboard into the turntable. My speaker is quite close and it is not a small beasty and kicks out a lot of deep bass and it has never once got through to the turntable. I have taken some other measures to be sure as you can see from the photo as the TT stands on a compact laminate platform which also stands on ISO Pods. The TT feet also have vibration control so it all adds up to zilch getting through!
    Main system : VPI Scout 1.1 / JMW 9T / 2M Black / Croft 25R+ / Croft 7 / Heco Celan GT 702

    Second System : Goldring Lenco GL75 / AT95EX / Pioneer SX590 / Spendor SP2

If you buy vintage they are usually built like a tank!

Is this what your amp looks like Robin? If so, hiding it away inside a rack would be criminal...

I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

You can make your own rack yourself for less than £200 is your happy to drill some holes in some bamboo shelving and use threaded rod, nuts and bolts.

I've done this twice now. You can infinitely adjust the shelf position at any level and have a pretty well damped rack in the process.

I decided not to go down the rack route, although the unit has still to be build as my new listening room is still to be erected, will be done over the next week or so, weather dependent.
