He's been my music hero for over 30 years.

Drove down yesterday,for a look,got talking to a nice lady who invited me into her house.

She started showing me all these pics of the house with the previous tennant,who happened to be John Martyn.

T'was a very interesting visit for me,also got to see and photograph some of Johns unseen artwork.

Well well well, he was born in New Malden in Surrey - couple of miles from me.

He spent most of his life up here and went to the school my father taught in.

He'd been playing the geetar for about a year when my father tried to persuade him to give up and concentrate more on his rugby.

Thank feck my fathers not a very persuasive person.
