As I understand it, friends and family on PayPal is a way of transferring money without incurring costs so technically nothing to do with a purchase

Usual on the forums for known members, not on eBay or any other sale website. I've done it a few times off Hifi for sale, Gumtree etc when I've called the seller and had a good chat, never had my fingers burnt.
