    Jeff,
His, err, talents were not so widely recognised here as they were in your country.

    Sorry Jeff,

Tiny Tim, for me, is one of the more embarrasing British performers we have produced.

I have enormous respect for recommendations made by the late and sadly lamented John Peel, but he was not infallable.

There were several artists that Peel enthused over that did nothing for me: Wild Man Fisher, The Legendary Starlight Cowboy (?), some of Ivor Cutler, Mark Bolan's 'T Rex', and Tiny Tim.

Oh well, De gustibus non disputandem - suum cuique!

    Regards
    Barry

He was born in New York (Manhatten) so you can clear Britans good name.
He was just entertaining because of several factors you can't just simply over look the combanation that created the perfact storm.
    1. music choice (songs your grandmother was to little to remember).
    2.Choice of insterment.(self evedant).
3.His odd voice in prepotion to his body.
    4.His cloths.
    5. His nose.
    6. His hair.
    7.His stage name.
    8.His odd manerisums and behavior.

You can't simply not notice him.(love him or hate him).
He never copied anyone elses style,he did his own thing and did it right till the end.CHEERS TINY!

    Hi Jeff,

Apologies for claiming one of your countrymen as one of ours. Would agree that he was certainly a distinctive and unique performer - he just didn't do anything for me, apart from making me want to cringe with embarrasment.

I didn't know that he had died.
    RIP Tiny Tim

I know he is not one of the greats but when I was very little 5 -10 years old or so he really was fun to watch on T.V. so he holds a some child hood memorys for me.
Would I listen to one of his albums over and over NO! I'm not insane but a song or to still cheers me up.
