Tricky question, ideally I would say no they shouldn't, but unfortunately some of the behaviour and language in the recent thread leaves a nasty taste. I don't like too many rules, but when people cannot behave like adults . . . . than maybe yes.

Following the Brexit debate, I trust that, should the outcome of this vote not be popular with some members, that there will be a long and protracted debate about having a second vote?

A couple of times, I have been about to post on the Referendum thread but thought better of it. AOS is a friendly place - let's keep it this way.

Arguing over politics is like two fleas fighting over who owns the dog they are living on.

I like that - maybe we should have an off-topic section for maxims such as this: we could call it 'Thought of the Day'.

I apply the same principle to threads on internet forums as I do to TV programmes and such.

    If I don't like what I see/hear/read, I move on .... simples

Stuff is very easy to ignore on AoS, just don't click on the thread ..... or scroll down if a comment offends you.

Ban it. It's just annoying and not what I imagine the majority of people come to a hi fi forum for. The Steve Hoffman forums ban political discussion and it makes for a much nicer place to post when it's just like minded people sticking to music and hi fi.

Definitely. Mongrels are healthier and less neurotic than thoroughbreds.
