Should political discussions be banned on AoS?

I never become involved in 'debates' purely because it is sometimes difficult to get across what you mean by typing, whereas speaking face to face things have a totally different meaning.

Me too, unless it's one of my 'pet topics', such as Scottish Independence, which I'm extremely passionate about! Otherwise, all I can do is YAWN. It's important to remember that AoS exists, first and foremost, as a subjectivist hi-fi and music forum.

The off-topic section is essentially for some light-hearted banter amongst the regulars, not to double as a formal debating society, on any subject, not just politics, and so nothing there should ever get 'too heavy'

In that respect, this isn't pfm!

I used to be a regular at PFM where politics seems to have almost taken over certainly in the Off Topic rooms. I find I only pop in now and again now and that only tends to be to the classic room and classifieds.

If I wanted to discuss politics and Brexit I would join an appropriate forum.
