    I have Techmoan added to my favourites in YouTube.
    He digs up some really interesting kit from the past and has a nice irreverent reviewing style.
    Well worth further viewing.

    Out of curiosity, how does this thing move at a constant angular velocity, rather than a constant tangential velocity? Would it make any difference to the appalling sound reproduction?

    Apparently that's what the light sensor is for, he explains it in one of the other videos where he reviews the VW Microbus version.
