The older the better, get a Mk1 if you can.

I know Martin likes the earlier models. I opt for the SE myself, it always puts in a very decent performance.

My best mate uses one alongside his EAR 861 and he is pretty fussy.

That’s not how I recall it. A Cyrus II or Audiolab 8000A had much more grip on the speakers. I remember those Infinity speakers being imported into the UK for a while - not that long as I recall.

I've never done the comparison myself. I'm sure there are a fair few amps that have more grip but the Denons are plentiful and cheap.

Yes others have now suggested the SE model too.

You are welcome to borrow my Baldwin 405c power amp (reelaudio.co.uk) which ought to drive these speakers no problem. They are currently sitting here unloved and could do with some electricity going through it.

Mate that is a lovely gesture and genuinely appreciated but my Pm4 has no preouts and also I’m thinking that these infinity’s are not worth refurbishing

the power amp has an attenuator which works well. Just throw a line level source at it and wind it up.

I’m sure my Yamaha’s would appreciate the extra power . I never knew about the attenuator allowing a line level input ! How could I not know that ffs
