    Default Andy Laverty

Hello All, i am Andy and i am from a small village just outside Peterhead, Scotland. I currently work offshore as a hydrographic surveyor and before that i was in the RN for 13 years. I have always been into my music and just now I've got a SONOs set up and also a pair of Acoustic Energy's paired up with a fatman Amp. I am looking to start upgrading and would be grateful for any advice, So far my plan is to get -

    Q Accoustics 3050
    Rega Brio Amp
    Onkyo DP-X1
    Audiolab M-Dac mini

Whats everybody thoughts on this, bearing in mind this is about my budget.

    Andy,

I presume that you are not considering getting into vinyl at this point, so that your system will be predominantly digital in terms of inputs. One very cost effective way of moving forward is to look at products that perform more than one function. For example, this:

This is a high quality integrated amplifier with multiple digital inputs. I think you would be surprised at how well it drives all but the most inefficient speakers. Also, it eliminates the need for a separate DAC. In performance terms, the DAC section is easily the equal of my M-DAC.

Your choice of components is sound and gives you the option of adding a turntable in the future should you wish without having to change your system but it depends on wether your considering adding a turntable, if not the the Nuforce is a very good piece of kit
