Did you give in to the chicken or was it not the Colonel's secret recipe? I ended up having a Shreddies/Alpen cocktail. Very vocal farts this morning, woke myself up with them, and here I am at 5am typing shit. No Alpen tonight.

Definitely on the warm side today, Geoff . I'm guessing not many houses have air conditioning there? Can get mighty uncomfortable without it at those temps. Tough sleeping at night too, if the walls hold the heat.
Its 26 degrees C in here at 2am with all the windows wide open. My fridge is really struggling as its getting old. It gives up, I keep having to reset it and Ive run out of ice cubes again.
Im off to buy a big stand mount fan tomorrow as I only have a small fan heater size on cold blow.
I dont want to complain but I am beginning to feel uncomfortable as Im not geared up for this. its very muggy tonight and Im not sleeping well. I dont have a light summer duvet so this duvet just gets thrown off. I thought I want another 1976 but we are going to be running out of water and will need some rain soon.
I would be quite happy for some thunderstorms to freshen the air a bit and cool us off
It's been 30 degrees in my house now for a couple of weeks. No rain forecast for the coming week but it does cool down a little by Thursday.
Current Lash Up:
TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.
It's 31C outside in the shade and 31C indoors. Far too hot for comfort!
Looks like another sweltering day. It's 30C in the shade already and the day hasn't even warmed up properly yet!
went very humid on saturday afternoon and then it rained last night, breaking the grip the sun has had. much cooler now, and to stay that way....summer is over here

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I'm joe.
The advantage of living in a draughty old Edwardian house is revealed when the weather's like this; it's much cooler in the house than outside, especially with the windows and back door open. If it gets too hot even in here, I can go to the University library, which has air conditioning and is open all hours.
We've stopped bothering with bedclothes now as we only kick them off during the night.
