Inspired by words from another thread:

It's all affectations. Something that really does not impress me. Like blokes who wear cowboy hats and boots. I just think they look like complete tits.

    Except Lemmy
    ”.

Don’t you just hate people who can pull off wearing things that no one should? Lemmy in his hat and boots, what a classic example.

Once on the Big Breakfast they dressed Samuel. L. Jackson in a rediculous outfit and wig - and he still looked cool!

Any other examples anyone can think of, or even where it goes very wrong - The oufits being worn by Imagination on the cover of their Body Talk album comes to mind.

One has to have the attitude/posture to go with it to get away with it.

saw a bloke the other day committing a number of sins all at once:

    Riding a push bike
    base ball cap worn backwards
    Pink t shirt
    Shorts
    Man bag

if I'd been driving I would have run him off the road as a favour to humanity. Is it just that people have no self-respect anymore?

No, dayglo orange trainers. He might have been gay which I suppose partially excuses him, but not for the backwards baseball cap.

In any case sandals are unacceptable with or without socks or regardless of sexual persuasion.

Usain Bolt copped off with an attractive young woman in a nightclub, and took her back to his hotel.

She wasted no time stripping him off, and when she removed his shirt, she saw the work 'Nike' tattooed on his chest. 'That earns me £100,000 a year'. Then she took off his trousers, revealing another tattoo. 'Reebok paid me £200,000 to have that one done'.

She pulled his boxers down, and reeled back in horror at the word 'AIDS' on his penis.

'It's ok', he said, 'play with it a bit, it says Adidas'.

On the subject of suitable clothing I was only thinking the other day, when an old fella (like me) wears jeans .... well, they don't look right do they, I mean what's a pensioner doing walking around in Levis? Surely they should be sporting some beige slacks with an elasticated waist and a generous collection of assorted food stains. But when I was in the USA a few years back old geezers in their 80's were always in jeans (and baseball caps) and it looked perfectly normal, cool even.
