Did you notice Messi just after the national anthem? I've never seen him look so down? Like he's suffering from depression which is no joke BTW, but what's going on here?

Probably suffering from the general malaise that appears to have settled on the Argentinian side.

Did you see Aguero last night after final whistle?
He is one very unhappy bunny ...

I felt sorry for Willy Caballero - the sliced kick was unfortunate, but such things happen.

as normal, a bunch of individuals intent more on cheating their way rather than using the skill they undoubtedly have as a unit. its their way alas. not proper orginisation from the management too.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I agree, but I seem to remember another (legitimate) goal he scored in that match, where he beat just about the whole England team to score it! That's the kind of skill I was referring to, and which I've NEVER seen so far from Messi, nor am probably ever likely to, as for me he's not in Maradona's footballing league.

Looking forward now to watching Brazil vs. Costa Rica, especially seeing how Celtic's Christian Gamboa copes with that Brazil forward line! I expect there to be a few goals in this one...

Once upon a time, there were loads of English players playing in the English leagues too!!

My personal opinion is that "foreign nationals" should be limited to 2 maybe 3 per team for no other reason than to nuture talented young British Players (I would not include Scotland Wales and NI as Foreign)
